Margolotta Amaya Katerina Assumpta Crassina von Überwald (Lady Margolotta for short) is a vampire noblewoman living near Bonk, in Überwald. She is a Black Ribboner and founding member of the Überwald League of Temperance. She generally sports a pink jumper (with embroidered bats), and owns a small dog that looks more like a rat than anything canine. Her coach is entirely black, with black glass in the windows, black horses with black plumes, and no driver.

Her castle near Bonk has architecture best descibed as "being influenced by fairytales and the more decorative form of cake" and is probaby a parody of Roundworld's Neuschwanstein castle in southern Bavaria which is about as genuine as a 37 cent coin.

She is very well informed about politics across the Discworld: Lord Vetinari, Ankh-Morpork's current Patrician, spent some time with her during his Grand Sneer (and escape from Snapcase's Ankh-Morpork) and seems to have begun his rise to power there. It's uncertain whether she taught him all he knows, or whether it was the other way around. Or maybe neither would have quite become who he or she is without the other?

Margolotta the original patron of William de Worde's newsletter before he founded the Ankh-Morpork Times and she apparently maintains many such sources around the Disc. She has been to Ankh-Morpork for a diplomatic visit once, and always keeps her fingers in affairs of the Big Wahoonie. Her most recent endeavour has to do with a goblin genius she had raised at her castle in Bonk.

With a vampire's attention to detail and power of persuasion, she always knows the political situation, at least across Überwald and the Sto Plains, and influences it subtly and slowly (vampires have lots of time.) We know that Black Ribboners "switch" their craving for blood to something else. Now, Lady Margolotta craves control over people. You have been warned.-

Lady Margolotta is from the Discworld novels, and is the property of Terry Pratchett. She appears here solely for the purpose of role-playing in [community profile] milliways_bar, from which no profit whatsoever is being made.
